Maybelline Lemonade Craze Palette Review & Swatches

fullsizeoutput_2cf.jpegWhenever I go to a store, I ALWAYS look in the makeup section. Addicted? Maybe. So, like always when I went to Wal-Mart Tuesday, I checked out the beauty department.

Immediately, the Maybelline Lemonade Craze eyeshadow palette for $10, caught my eye.

Hard plastic, yellow trimmed packaging with 12 beautiful summer shades. 4 Shimmers; Citrus, Strawberry Lemonade, Sugar Coated & Main Squeeze. 8 Mattes; Sherbet, Berry Ice, Sunnies, Lemonade Craze, Ice Pop, Coral Punch, Old Fashioned & Sweet Tea.

fullsizeoutput_2d0Every color a girl needs to create a cute summery look. Too good to be true?I think so…..

The first problem. Fallout. SO. MUCH. FALLOUT. As soon as I touched my brush to the matte shades, Sweat Tea & Old Fashioned, there was eyeshadow everywhere. With that being said, the pigment payoff from these shades were useable and easily buildable. So I thought, ‘hey, I can deal with fallout, if all of these shades turn out this good.’ WRONG. The matte shades; Sunnies, Sherbet & Berry Ice are all so light, they blend out to nothing. Ice Pop & Lemonade Craze in the pan and even swatching them, are gorgeous, but there is almost zero pigment when applied to the eyes.

The 4 Shimmers, are even worse. Non-pigmented, patchy & do not stay on the eyelids very long. I used Sugar Coated all over my lid and 3 hours later, it was GONE! No where to be found anywhere on my  lid.

Overall, this palette had huuuuuggggge potential, but Maybelline fell short. From inconsistent color payoff, to patchy, disappearing shimmers. This palette was only $10, but for only two shades that are actually useable, after A LOT of building I might add, it is definitely NOT worth $10.

I would not recommend this product to ANYONE!
